New Stadium plans unanimously approved

Liverpool City Council have unanimously approved Liverpool FC’s plans for the new stadium to be built on Stanley Park, it was revealed this evening.

After a five hour meeting, the council gave the green light for the club to begin building the 60,000 seater stadium. The stadium will be built with the potential to be expanded to a 75,000 capacity.

The stadium is expected to be built in time for the start of the 2011/12 season.
