Disillusioned Rafa?

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is not writing off Liverpool’s title chances just yet, despite a frustrating and disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Wigan on Wednesday night.

A late Titus Bramble strike cancelled out Fernando Torres’ sixteenth goal of the season to leave the Reds with just eight points from their last possible fifteen.

However, unlike the rest of the world, Benitez still has confidence his team can turn around the 12 point gap that now separates them from Premier League leaders Arsenal by May.

He says, “It’s clear the gap is bigger but I’ve said before that it’s a long race and you need to keep thinking about one game at a time if you can.

“If you think about the difference, you will only play with more pressure.

“It is clear that the gap for us now at the top is bigger, but I keep saying we must concentrate on one game and not look at the table and make ourselves nervous.”
