Liverpool’s appeal to have Javier Mascherano’s suspension overturned has failed, so the Argentine midfielder will miss this Sunday’s game against Blackburn Rovers at Anfield.
Mascherano has already served two games of the three match ban which was given to following his reaction to being sent off during Liverpool’s recent 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Reds take on Blackburn in the Premier League on Sunday (13 April) with a 1.30pm kick-off. The game is live on Sky Sports.
