Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has paid tribute to Liverpool winger Dirk Kuyt as he prepares to make his 100th appearance for the club since signing in the summer of 2005.

Benitez has praised Kuyt’s workrate and professionalism ahead of tonight’s crucial Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round second leg at Anfield against Standard Liege.

Benitez told the club’s official website, “He is a very, very good player for any team or squad. He’s a fantastic professional who can score goals, and his workrate is amazing.

“He’s also a fantastic teammate, so he’s a player any manager would want in his squad. He is always the same in every game and training session ‘“ a very good professional and a nice boy.”

Liverpool vs Standard Liege kicks off at 8pm.
