Babel vents frustrations

Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has revealed his frustration at not getting enough first team action this season and warned Rafa Benitez that he won’t get better by sitting on the bench.

The 21-year-old Dutch international missed the start of the Reds season whilst on Olympic duty with Holland in China, and owing to an already strong midfield at Anfield and the impressive form of Dirk Kuyt this campaign, Babel is struggling to break into the team.

‘œThe rotation system is a thing of the past and I’m one of the victims of that,’ he told a Dutch sports magazine.

‘œThe team is winning a lot, so you don’t alter things just like that.

‘œEach season has about 60 games. ‘I must work hard and wait for my chance,’ is what you hear, but I’ve shown enough patience. I want to play.

‘œYou get better and develop when you play. On the bench, nothing happens. Of course I’m disappointed when I don’t play, that seems clear to me.’
