Preston game to be televised

Liverpool’s third round FA Cup tie away to Preston North End has been chosen by ITV to be broadcast live from Deepdale.

Therefore the game will be played on Saturday, January 3rd with a kick-off time of 5.25pm.

The first match of 2009 takes place at former manager Bill Shankly‘s old club, on the 50th anniversary of him becoming Liverpool manager. It also sees former Red Neil Mellor line-up against his old side for the first time.

Liverpool will be hoping to avoid the embarrassment of being knocked out by a Championship for a second season, having been defeated by Barnsley at Anfield last season.
