Match Preview: Hull City (a)

Liverpool travel to the KC Stadium to face relegation threatened Hull City with just five games remaining of the Premier League season.

The Reds’ title hopes were dealt a blow by their incredible 4-4 draw with Arsenal on Tuesday night, and with Man United winning on Wednesday, they go into this game knowing anything less than three points will signal the end of their title aspirations.

Hull, on the other hand, have survival on their minds after a disastrous run of form which has seen them slip down the table and now sitting only three points above the drop zone.

It was a different story back in December when the two sides met at Anfield and played out a 2-2 draw, back then Hull were punching above their weight and even took a two goal lead before Steven Gerrard scored twice before half-time. Incredibly, since then Hull have won just seven points.

Gerrard though will be missing this time, still sidelined with the groin injury which has kept him out of action for the last three weeks. His absence means a continued role in the attack for Yossi Benayoun, impressive against Arsenal in midweek when he and Torres scored twice each.

Liverpool have never played at the KC Stadium, the last time they played at Hull was at Boothferry Park, winning 5-0 in the League Cup, Erik Meijer scoring twice!

Likely line-up: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Skrtel, Insua, Alonso, Mascherano, Kuyt, Benayoun, Riera, Torres.
