Rafa admiration for tireless Dirk

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has sung the praises of Reds attacker Dirk Kuyt, agreeing with a recent newspaper report that the label ‘œMr Duracell’ suits the Dutch international for his outstanding workrate on the pitch.

Kuyt has impressed immensely this season, holding down a regular first team place and providing vital goals and assists in Liverpool’s success in the league.

With only two games of the 2008/09 campaign remaining, Benitez says credit must be given to the 28-year-old former Feyenood striker.

He said, “This year maybe he is doing so much better because the team has been doing well too. He’s done really well creating things, but also scoring a lot of goals as well.

“Over my career I have had some very good players in terms of the running they do and the difference now is we have a squad with lots of those types.

“But it’s always good when you have someone like Dirk, who has the mentality to realise how important that is for the team.”
