Liverpool striker Fernando Torres says he is committing his future to the club because of a special bond that has been created since he arrived at Anfield two years ago.
The Spanish international striker signed an improved contract with the Reds yesterday that includes the option to stay another year beyond his deal, which expires in 2013.
“I want to remain here,” said Torres. “Since arriving at Liverpool I feel that there’s a bond and commitment.
“We listened to the club’s offer, which came on the back of two seasons of positive work.
“My objective now is to win a trophy with Liverpool next year.”
And congratulations go to Torres today for another reason. The 25 year old married his girlfriend Olalla Dominguez Liste just outside of Madrid earlier this week. The Torres’ are expecting their first baby shortly.
