Internationals Round-up

Liverpool players were in action last night for their countries as qualifying for World Cup 2010 took a step closer.

Steven Gerrard started for England in their 6-0 thrashing of Andorra at Wembley Stadium. The Reds skipper was taken off and rested at half-time, whilst former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch got England’s sixth goal of the night with nine minutes to go.

Dirk Kuyt and Ryan Babel featured for Holland in their comfortable 2-0 win over Norway. Kuyt played the full 90 minutes whilst Babel was a late second half substitute.

Andrea Dossena was in action for Italy in a friendly against New Zealand, whilst David Ngog helped France U-20’s beat Argentina U-20’s on penalties to reach the final of the Toulon Cup. They will face Chile on Friday night.
