The fixtures and dates for the 2009/10 Premier League season will be published on Wednesday morning, an annual date which sparks off the countdown to the new season.
The new Premier League season gets underway on Saturday, August 15th and welcomes Wolverhamton Wanderers, Birmingham City and Burnley from the Championship, replacing Newcastle Utd, Middlesbrough and West Brom, who were relegated last season.
The season will finish on 9th of May 2010, just one month before the start of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
As Rafa Benitez and his men prepare for the biggest shot at the league title since the club last won it in 1990, they will be hoping for an home fixture to open the campaign after a trip to Sunderland on the opening day in the 2008/09 campaign.
The fixtures are due to be announced at 10am on Wednesday morning.
