Fans ecstatic after Reds beat Man Utd at Anfield

Liverpool fans are as expected still in moods of sheer bliss after goals from Fernando Torres and David Ngog sunk Manchester Utd at Anfield yesterday.

After a run of four straight defeat, Rafa Benitez’s men put on a performance of determination, drive and passion in front of the home crowd.

Here’s a selection of fans celebrations in the This Is Anfield Forums. You can join in with the post-match discussions by clicking here.

Mascott88: Brilliant – at times I felt like we were playing United and the ref. It is even sweeter for the shit we’ve been through in the past week. Anyone calling for Rafa’s head should be thoroughly ashamed after the performance today. MOTM – Carragher. A captain’s performance, with the defensive steel we haven’t seen that much of lately.

MattyOF: Well done lads. Let everyone bask in the supreme feeling of beating those twats but we have to “focus” and we HAVE to follow this up with a win against Fulham. Players finally stood up and were counted for the first time this season.

lfc.eddie: Carragher was back to his old fucking self. He partnered well with Agger. Mascherano battled all the way through, together with (can’t believe I am saying this) Lucas. Everyone in the team was fighting for every single scraps. Even NGog wasn’t intimidated by those 2 fuckers in United defense. That is how they should be taking the game every single one of them.

churlton: Perhaps now we’ll finally stop having to watch SlySports constantly showing ‘RafasRant’ all the time and can focus on Slurguson’s constant refusal to talk whenever they lose.. Perhaps now HE’s the man under pressure, after all, he’s lost (almost) as many as Rafa and if, as the scum fans constantly bleat, history isn’t important we’re currently the best team!!

kop_fever: Great game from the lads. Every single one of the players played well and did what Rafa has been wanting them to do for some time. Lucas had an excellent game and got forward alot more something I want to see more of. My only criticism was that Insua was shaky, kuyt was a tad wasteful and Carra provided a few more heart in mouth moments, but all in a very good game. I want to see more of this.

evan90: Brilliant to see Lucas finally step up and play a blinder. Was all over the field and contributed going forward . If he can get a shot going, then hey, who knows. I seriously hope he keeps at this standard though. Carra certainly played himself back into form with some brilliant tackles, while Agger looked cool both defensively and with the ball. Benny is turning into a bit of a cult hero and has turned in some quality performances of late. Never stops running and is an essential part of a squad. Torres, well – what more can you say on the lad?
