As if Liverpool’s season couldn’t get any worse, key trio Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun will undergo scans on injuries picked up in tonight’s 2-1 defeat to Reading in the FA Cup.
Torres and Gerrard picked up knocks during the first half of the dismal performance as the Reds crashed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle.
Although Benayoun played the full 120 minutes of football, he has suffered some pain to his ribs and will also await test results.
After the game a downbeat Rafa Benitez confirmed, “Stevie and Fernando will have a scan tomorrow and we have to wait for the doctor.
“Gerrard has a problem with his hamstring and Torres twisted his knee.
“Yossi Benayoun also has some problems with his ribs so again we will have to wait.”
