Liverpool will start the 2010/11 Premier League season with a home fixture for the first time since the 2003/04 season.
However, the Reds have been drawn the unfavourable task of the visit of Arsenal – who finished third in the league last season. Liverpool’s opening game of last season saw them travel to Tottenham – who went on to finish fourth.
The season starts with Liverpool vs Arsenal on the weekend of 14th August, with exact dates and kick-off times yet to be confirmed by television.
Liverpool’s tricky start continues a week later when the Reds visit Manchester City in the second game of the season.
The last time Liverpool opened a Premier League season at home they lost to Chelsea 2-1 back in August 2003.
Whilst we are unable to publish a full list of the fixtures (you can see them here), the Reds face Manchester Utd away in September and home in March, Everton away in October and at home in January, and finish the season with a tricky trip to Aston Villa.
This season’s FA Cup final takes place before the end of the Premier League season – on May 14th.
