Crouch left Anfield two years ago for Portsmouth, for £8m, seeking regular first-team football, moving to Tottenham a year later. He’s now linked with a return to Merseyside for £10m.

Reports suggest Crouch is keen on a return to the club, with somewhat unfinished business, and the city where his fiancee Abigail Clancy is from.

The Telegraph write:

Liverpool cannot offer Crouch the Champions League football he would enjoy at White Hart Lane, but Hodgson believes he could convince the England international to rejoin the Merseyside club.

Crouch would also add to the new homegrown squad quota rule.

Originally signed from Southampton in 2005, Crouch made 134 appearances for the Reds, scoring 42 goals.
