Kirdi shows his lack of history

Potential new Liverpool owner Yahya Kirdi has done little to endear himself to Liverpool supporters by claiming former manager Rafael Benitez “did nothing for Liverpool” and was a dictator.

Yes, that’s the former Liverpool manager who took the club to two Champions League Finals, re-establishing LFC on a European stage, providing the most memorable night in the club’s history in the process.

The same Rafael Benitez who led the club to their highest ever Premier League points tally and brought star names like Fernando Torres, Pepe Reina, Javier Mascherano and Xabi Alonso to the club.

Kirdi said “Rafael didn’t do anything good for Liverpool. Hodgson is very good for Liverpool because he’s not some kind of dictator.”

Liverpool fans, already skeptical at Kirdi’s credentials and links to current owner George Gillett, will be even more dubious about Kirdi having heard these comments. Having had to suffer Tom Hicks’ continual bad press with some of his ridiculous comments in recent years all Liverpool fans want is an owner to act with some dignity and class.
