Torres says he’s “really happy” at Liverpool

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has returned to training on Merseyside, declaring he is “really happy” at the club, amid speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield.

Reports have suggested that the Spanish World Cup winner is unsettled at the club, having yet to win any silverwear since his move from Atletico Madrid in 2007.

Other reports have suggested that he is unhappy to continue playing for the Reds until it is under new ownership.

And amongst speculation suggesting the club are set to be sold imminently, Torres has released a statement reliving Reds fans of worry of any impending departure.

“I am really happy to be back, really happy to stay with all my team-mates,” he told liverpoolfc.tv.

“My commitment and loyalty to the club and to the fans is the same as it was on my first day when I signed.

“I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
