Portuguese international defender Fabio Coentrao has denied speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, instead pushing for a move to Real Madrid.
The Benfica wing-back had been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, but the 23-year-old is eyeing a place in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven instead.
He told press today, “What I want is to play for Real Madrid. It is the best club in the world and the only place I would leave Benfica for.
“Madrid has the best players in the world and I have many friends there. Nothing has been done but I hope the signing will go ahead.
“Benfica understand my decision and I intend to make it a good deal for them. I will be grateful to them all my life.”
