Bolton boss backs Andy Carroll to shine

Bolton manager Owen Coyle says he is wary of the threat Andy Carroll is ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Liverpool at the Reebok Stadium.

Carroll has come under immense criticism due to his low-goalscoring record since signing for the Reds last January. The former Newcastle frontman has bagged just four goals this season.

But Coyle says there is a lot of potential in Carroll and an explosion of goals is about to come.

“I don’t think there is any doubt he will reproduce that form,” said Coyle.

“He is an outstanding young player. His quality is unquestioned. We have to make sure he doesn’t show it against us.”

Bolton vs Liverpool gets underway at 5.30pm tomorrow, Saturday 21st January.
