Sunday Speculation: Granero, Sinclair, Carroll and more

We’re halfway through the January transfer window, with very little movement across the Premier League. It’s a stark contrast to last January which was one of the most dramatic month’s in the recent history of the club.

Most the speculation surrounding Liverpool is, much like last year, surrounding incoming attackers with the lack of goals this season a huge problem for Kenny Dalglish‘s team. Blackburn Rovers have scored six more Premier League goals than Liverpool, underlining the lack of prolificacy at Anfield.

The latest names to be linked with moves to Merseyside include French forward Loic Remy, Swansea’s Scott Sinclair, Inter Milan’s Mauro Zarate and Wigan’s Victor Moses. Blackburn winger Junior Hoilett is also attracting interest, with Spurs and Bolton also interested in him.

Meanwhile, Dirk Kuyt – who hasn’t scored for LFC this season – continues to be linked with a move away – to Galatasaray or Newcastle for around £6m.

A report in The Sunday Express claims Liverpool turned down an enquiry for Aston Villa for Andy Carroll. They claim Alex McCleish was interested in swap deal involving Darren Bent.

And finally, Esteban Granero’s agent has talked up a move to Liverpool for his client. The Real Madrid midfielder has made just three appearances in La Liga this season, and his agent said “He’s finding his chances limited at Real. He’s keen for a move away – possibly to Liverpool.”
