Last week we were invited along to the launch of FIFA13 in Manchester as a group of footballers and celebrities took part in the ‘FIFA 13 Celebrity Cup’ – hosted by Sky Sports’ Charlotte Jackson.
Liverpool’s Jose Enrique won the tournament in style, not conceding for the whole tournament, while ‘You Me at Six’ singer Josh Franceschi caused an upset by knocking out Olympians Louis Smith and Greg Rutherford and Man United defender Chris Smalling en route to the final.
On the pitch, Enrique recently expressed his disappointment at a nagging knee injury that has troubled him at the start of the season. “I don’t know quite what the problem is, but I have been playing with a lot of pain,” said Enrique.
“I had an injection in my knee, so hopefully that will settle it down and allow me to find my form again, because it is difficult playing with pain.”
