Anzhi vs Liverpool Starting Line-up News

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers loooks set to give young striker Adam Morgan (right) a chance to show his worth in the first team tonight as the Reds take on Russian side Anzhi in the Europa League.

Rodgers has rested 10 first team players for the trip to Eastern Europe, with Sunday’s Premier League clash away at Chelsea in mind.

With thin attacking options anyway, plus the absence of Luis Suarez and the injured Fabio Borini, Rodgers has opted to start 18-year-old Morgan up front.

Jamie Carragher will captain the side, with Jon Flanagan and Stewart Downing looking likely to play wing-back roles.

Conor Coady gets a starting place in midfield alongside Jordan Henderson and Jonjo Shelvey.

Joe Cole looks set to be given another run out after his 45 minutes against Swansea last week.

Provisional Liverpool team: Jones, Flanagan, Wisdom, Coates, Carragher, Downing, Coady, Henderson, Shelvey, Cole, Morgan.

The confirmed line-up will be published shortly after 4pm (UK).

Anzhi vs Liverpool gets underway at 5pm this evening (Thursday, 8th November 2012).
