The 27-year-old had flown to Boston to undergo his medical and was then given a few days to head to New York, according to The Liverpool Echo.
Liverpool though sort a second opinion on an issue that arose during the medical and have now cancelled the deal because of this.
Loic Remy's move to Liverpool is off. It is understood the forward failed a medical. No comment from the club however.

The news is reported by all the Liverpool based journalists, and rumours on Saturday at The Reds’ training in Chicago have now been confirmed as such.
Lots incorrectly pointing to Remy's knee. Not the case. He's had issues with medicals before due to a heart problem. #LFC

While no mention of what the issue is has been made, Remy does have a heart condition which has reportedly affected previous potential moves during his career.
Remy, according to The Echo, was due to be handed the number 7 shirt.
Liverpool are expected to identify new targets now and are not thought to want to resurrect the deal for the French striker, write The Guardian.
One piece of good news for Liverpool is that Dejan Lovren‘s move has been finalised.
Dissapointed for Remy and Lfc be difficult to get another striker of that quality for 8.5 million.
