Balotelli returns to the Premier League for the first time since leaving Manchester City for AC Milan in January 2013.

The 24-year-old Italian international partners Daniel Sturridge up front, supported by Raheem Sterling.

Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen play ahead of Steven Gerrard in midfield, whilst injuries to Glen Johnson and Martin Skrtel mean a back four of Javier Manquillo, Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho and Alberto Moreno.

Philippe Coutinho drops to the bench, with Rickie Lambert and Lazar Markovic providing attacking options too.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Friedel is amongst Tottenham‘s substitutes.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Lovren, Sakho, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Sterling, Sturridge, Balotelli.

Substitutes: Jones, Enrique, Toure, Lambert, Coutinho, Can, Markovic.

Tottenham: Lloris, Dier, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose, Bentaleb, Capoue, Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela, Adebayor.

Substitutes: Friedel, Chiriches, Davies, Dembele, Holtby, Townsend, Kane.

The Reds will be looking to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Monday night, whilst Tottenham are looking to maintain their 100% victory record in 2014/15 so far.
