Rickie Lammbert came on for the final half an hour of Liverpool’s draw against Hull City on Saturday, playing alongside Mario Balotelli.
The two worked well together and manager Brendan Rodgers could be tempted to start them in tandem this evening against Swansea in the League Cup.
Jamie Carragher had a look at the pairing on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football;

As was noted by Andrew Beasley, Lambert made more passes to Balotelli than any other Liverpool player, despite playing only half an hour together.
Re @Carra23 analysis-RL passed to MB more than anyone did whilst he was on the pitch & 2 of the 5 passes MB received in the box were from RL

It was Lambert who played in Balotelli for a good chance late on and Balotelli looked far more at ease with a partner alongside him.
There’s certainly an argument to play both against Swansea, with each looking in need of form, fitness and indeed a goal to boost their confidence.
Would you start the two of them together tonight?
