Liverpool have unveiled their new third kit for season 2015/16, with players sporting the kit for the first time against Stoke City this afternoon.
The kit is the second to be unveiled by new kit manufacturer New Balance, with the away shirt to be revealed later this summer.
Steven Gerrard led the Liverpool players out in the new kit at the Britannia Stadium in his final game for the club.
LFC describe the kit as:
A fresh approach to a classic look; New Balance’s LFC third kit sees the return of the popular bold black design incorporating a gradient effect that is sure to make the kit stand out next season. Inserted breathable taping incorporating flashes of red and white have been engineered into the shoulder seams and collar ensuring the kit stays true to the heritage and prestige of LFC. A lifestyle inspired polo collar with semi-concealed two-button placket and two-way reverse tipping allows wearers to customise how the collar is worn, whilst always promoting the club colours.
The main body of the shirt is constructed with New Balance’s moisture wicking fabric, NB Dry, which helps keep the player cool on the pitch by releasing moisture away from the body, making it fast-drying. The kit is anatomically fitted to form around the player’s body shape for ease of movement. Mesh panelling under the arms helps airflow around the body and is crucial in keeping the players comfortable during games.
