Jurgen Klopp addressed a room of reporters at Melwood on Wednesday afternoon to preview Liverpool’s Europa League clash against Bordeaux at Anfield on Thursday night.

The Reds sit second in their Europa League group going into the penultimate round of fixtures. A win would confirm Liverpool’s place in the next round of the competition.

In a parallel to his post-match comments on Saturday, Klopp said he is still looking for improvements among his players, despite the impressive 4-1 victory at Manchester City.

“I want the players to understand why it’s better to do more,” the 48-year-old German said. “The right thing in the right moment—that’s how football works.

“There were brilliant moments, but it was far, far, far away from perfect.

“It’s really important that we’re not surprised that we have to play, that we’re not awake enough.”
