Liverpool have today confirmed they will play FC Barcelona at Wembley Stadium in August.
The match will be the Reds’ third game as part of the International Champions Cup tournament, with the other games taking place in America – against Chelsea in Los Angeles, and AC Milan in Santa Clara.
The match against the Spanish champions will be played on August 6th, with a 5pm kick off.
The fixture had been confirmed back in March, with only the venue to be determined. Dublin’s Aviva Stadium and Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium were also in the running to host the game.
It will, of course, see the Reds lineup against former player Luis Suarez for the first time since his departure from the club two years ago.
Liverpool have lost on their last two visits to Wembley, against Man City in February’s League Cup final, and against Aston Villa in last season’s FA Cup semi-final.
The news was confirmed at a rather cringeworthy press conference organised by tournament organisers ICC on Tuesday lunchtime.
Tickets for the game will go on sale for LFC season ticket holders and Members via www.ticketmaster.co.uk on June 1 at 10am.
General sale will commence at 10am on Friday June 3. Ticket prices will start from £26 for adults, with junior tickets priced £15.
