Liverpool were held to a frustrating draw at home to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, leaving Anfield disappointed.
Liverpool 2-2 West Ham United
Premier League, Anfield
December 11, 2016
Goals: Lallana 5′, Origi 48′; Payet 28′, Antonio 39′
After slipping up away to Bournemouth last time out, the Reds’ clash with an out-of-form West Ham provided them with the perfect opportunity to respond.
But despite a bright start, the result ended level, and with Chelsea and Arsenal both winning at the weekend, Liverpool slipped further away from the pack in the Premier League title race.
Here’s how supporters reacted on social media as Liverpool drew 2-2 at home to West Ham.
Adam Lallana opened the scoring after just five minutes…
Adam "Prolific" Lallana back in the starting line-up. Great goal.

What a finish that is from Lallana. Controlled with the right foot, slotted home with the left on the half volley. Dream start for #LFC
— James Pearce (@JamesPearceLFC) December 11, 2016
Lovely touch and finish from Lallana for the opener.
Great to see him back fit and starting today.— Neil Mellor (@NeilMellor33) December 11, 2016
Most players can't do that on their "weaker" foot. Lallana genuinely two footed, or very close

I LOVE ADAM LALLANA!!!

But Loris Karius was questioned as Dimitri Payet’s free-kick levelled…
Poor from Karius again, patience is starting to wear thin… #LFC
— Jack Williams (@JLWi11iams) December 11, 2016
Poor keeping. Too far across to the left & positioned his wall badly imo.
— Red (@TaintlessRed) December 11, 2016
Should have saved that
— keith costigan (@KeithCostigan) December 11, 2016
Looking at the replays, Karius hasn't covered himself in glory. Gave Payet far too much to aim at.
— Tony Barrett (@TonyBarrett) December 11, 2016
Lots of concern before that free-kick at Karius starting position. Seemed very near far post and seemed to give Payet far too much to aim at
— Andy Kelly (@AndyK_LivNews) December 11, 2016
Looked a goal as soon as Payet started lining that up but questions, surely, about the state of Liverpool's wall & the keeper's position?
— Dominic King (@DominicKing_DM) December 11, 2016
Karius hasn't shown he's anywhere good enough to play for Liverpool in the past few months, poor in multiple departments.
— Tom McMahon (@tomjpmac) December 11, 2016
Michail Antonio then gave West Ham the lead, with Karius’ role again questionable…
Any attack ends up with a goal.
— Tom McMahon (@tomjpmac) December 11, 2016
@LFC woeful defending!!!!!
— Mark Wright (@Mark5Wright) December 11, 2016
Nothing surprises me with this team anymore. Had 20-odd years of it to deal with. Experts in conceding dreadful goals.
— Henry Jackson (@HenryJackson87) December 11, 2016
Five goals conceded to Bournemouth and West Ham
— John O'Sullivan (@NotoriousJOS) December 11, 2016
A late penalty shout was waved away before half-time…
Come on Clatsy, play the game lad
— The Anfield Wrap (@TheAnfieldWrap) December 11, 2016
The foul he just gave was no different to Payet's foul?
— Dinesh Kumar (@DHardayal) December 11, 2016
How was that not a penalty?
— Jim Boardman (@JimBoardman) December 11, 2016
It was another quick start after the break though and Divock Origi restored parity minutes into the second half…
Four in four for Origi.
— Andrew Beasley (@BassTunedToRed) December 11, 2016
Get in, now let's go for the 3 points and ask questions later.
— Tom McMahon (@tomjpmac) December 11, 2016
Randolph the red-faced keeper.
— Daniel Storey (@danielstorey85) December 11, 2016
Ray Clemence is watching this exhibition of goalkeeping at Anfield. Silently weeping.
— Chris Bascombe (@_ChrisBascombe) December 11, 2016
Before Darren Randolph denied Jordan Henderson with an excellent save…
Randolph with a great save to thwart a stellar Henderson effort that was heading for the top corner from distance.

Argh Hendo!!! Great effort. What a save. #LFC

If Henderson can do that, why doesn't he have any confidence. The ability is there.
— Rory Greenfield (@RoryGreenfield) December 11, 2016
Why can't he do that more often??
— Sam McGuire (@SamMcGuire90) December 11, 2016
And Jurgen Klopp’s side were forced to settle for a draw…
Better team perhaps but not enough quality in final third to deserve more than a point
— keith costigan (@KeithCostigan) December 11, 2016
Some issues there. Firmino, the keeper, the lack of subs and the bench to name four.
— Karl (@TheCenci) December 11, 2016
A few notable injuries and loss of form from key attackers and you soon see the deficiencies in the squad. I hope it's addressed in January.

Disappointing to get a draw but West Ham a better side than maybe they think they are, certainly played better than some Anfield visitors
— Jim Boardman (@JimBoardman) December 11, 2016
Battle for top 4 is on.
