Jurgen Klopp‘s Liverpool are improving at the midway stage of pre-season, with the German naming a strong starting lineup to take on Leicester City.
The Reds will contend the Premier League Asia Trophy in Hong Kong on Saturday afternoon, against the former champions of the English top flight.
Craig Shakespeare’s side advanced to the ‘final’ after a penalty shootout victory over West Brom on Wednesday, while Liverpool were more convincing, beating Crystal Palace 2-0.
As they round off their tour of the Far East, the Reds will be hoping for their third pre-season victory, with Klopp fielding an impressive side at the Hong Kong Stadium.
Loris Karius starts in goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and James Milner in defence.
In midfield, Georginio Wijnaldum is set to serve as Liverpool’s No. 6, with Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho operating in more advanced roles.
They will provide support for Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi, as Klopp’s three-man forward line.
The German made use of his allocation of 10 substitutes against Palace, and is likely to do the same on Saturday, with Jordan Henderson, Marko Grujic and Daniel Sturridge among those in reserve.
