There was relief and delight in equal measure after Liverpool edged past Brighton with a 1-0 win to make it three wins from three in the Premier League.
Liverpool 1-0 Brighton
Premier League, Anfield
August 25, 2018
Goal: Salah 23′
Liverpool’s fast start to the season continued at Anfield as the Reds edged past the Seagulls to maintain their 100 percent winning record.
Mohamed Salah struck what proved to be the winner on 23 minutes, rolling a great finish into the far corner after great work from James Milner to win possession.
The Reds weren’t at their best but did just enough to claim the win, and here’s how supporters reacted to the result across social media and on our forums.
Fans were happy to see the Reds win without being at their best…
Take that win all day every day. Not a title contender in the world that hasn’t shithoused their way to a 1-0 win. Shows progress though. Couple years ago we’d have dropped points to both palace and Brighton. This year we take maximum & keep the clean sheets.

Need to be able to see games like that out if you want to win the title. Liverpool far from their best but three points is all that matters.

“Doesn’t always have to be a pretty win…winning ugly is just as good…3 points in the bag…”
– Nikki Anderson on Facebook.
Positives: we won.
Negatives: we didn't play very well.#Analysis— Joseph Cousins (@JCuzzy1) August 25, 2018

9 points and still not even near our best.
That ball from Trent, I'm in a bar in Germany and it went off after it haha

Fans praised the defence and Alisson for a third straight clean sheet…
Alisson’s performance today just shows why Liverpool spent the big money on him. Big saves when called upon, making sure we got another important win despite not playing very well! #LIVBHA #LFC pic.twitter.com/pAXi0VqSDh

Alisson chipping it over the striker and controlling it has honestly made my night.
What a guy.

And Reds fans celebrated a hard-earned three points…
Maximum points, no goals conceded and top of the league.
And we've not even been close to our best yet. Exciting.

Average at best, but damn, that's an incredibly satisfying win.
