Liverpool carved out a difficult 2-1 victory at Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, heading into the international break with their perfect record intact.
Leicester City 1-2 Liverpool
Premier League, King Power Stadium,
September 1, 2018
Goals: Ghezzal 63′; Mane 10′, Firmino 45′
The Reds made it tough for themselves at the King Power despite going into half-time with a two-goal lead courtesy of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Firmino netted his first of the season just before the break, but the Liverpool side to emerge for the second half was markedly different.
Though the personnel was the same, Klopp witnessed a rocky display encapsulated in a shocking error from Alisson to hand Rachid Ghezzal a deficit-reducing strike.
But Liverpool ultimately held on during a late barrage to make it 12 points from a possible 12.
Here’s how supporters saw Liverpool’s 2-1 victory on Facebook, Twitter and our forums.
Alisson’s error was the subject of widespread criticism…
At least Alisson took a risk with a two goal lead today. Jürgen needs to have a word. #LFC

“That one is on Allison. Just kick it out.”
– yiannos33 on the forums.
Shocker from Alisson. Think that’ll give him a bit of a lesson; can’t be fecking about like that in the PL. He’ll learn. #YNWA

Most stupid goal I ever seen ….that's not you Alisson ? #LEILIV

“So I hope he has this out of his system now.”
– Werder4life on the forums.
Alisson will get far more stick for that than he deserves – but he does deserve stick for it. There are times for tricks and times for 'row zed'. It's done now though, what matters now is how he responds.

And Liverpool’s lacklustre second-half display was questioned…
Not the most polished performance for Liverpool in the second half.. but a win is a win is a win is a win.. #4from4

That second half was dreadful from Liverpool. Thank Christ it's over.

“This is one dire performance.”
– walshy07 on the forums.
As good as we were in the first half, we were pretty fucking lousy in the second. Didn’t test Schmeichel at all in that second half.
Lucky escape for Liverpool tonight against a persistent Leicester…#LEILIV #EPL #LFC #YNWA

“This second half is not the performance needed going into the game v Spurs.”
– won it at-a-turk stadium on the forums.
Doubt we’ll play worse and get 3 points, dreadful performance.
— Tom McMahon (@tomjpmac) September 1, 2018
But after another three points, Reds fans were left pleased…
Will take another 3 all day long!! @LFC ?
— Ian Rush MBE (@Ian_Rush9) September 1, 2018
Plenty for Klopp and his staff to work on before the next game, but three more points for #LFC, who retain their 100% record and stay top. Alisson won't (shouldn't) need too much telling about his little moment, but he needs to learn from it.

Not many teams are going to go Leicester away play poorly and come away with 3 points, very fortunate. Really important win

“The main objective was to get the 3pts. We did it despite shooting ourselves in the foot.”
– Fullmetal on the forums.
Talk about winning Ugly!!that was the ugliest of wins!!but 12/12 points, and the keeper got away with is mistake!it didn’t cost us at least?Gotta start playing well bow?ynwa
— John Aldridge (@Realaldo474) September 1, 2018
“Best team lost. I hope Klopp can replay this to some of our lads and explain why they were 2nd best in every department. Only 2 decent attempts were the 2 goals. Can’t get away with this every week.”
– Zahid Razzak on Facebook.
Massive 3 points. 12 from 12. Glad that Alisson error has come in a game that we’ve gone on to win. Learn and move on. Great that he’s so capable with the ball at his feet but there’s a time and a place. Aside from that he did well. Excellent start to the season.
— Jack Sear (@JackSear) September 1, 2018
Great win. 4 wins from 4 heading into the international break, with with two really tough aways out the way. Haven’t even got close to reaching top form yet either.
— Joel Rabinowitz (@joel_archie) September 1, 2018
“Three points, that’s the main thing!
[…]
“We haven’t really got going yet, as there is another level or two for this team to reach as we move through the gears. But an ‘average’ start, in terms of performance level, has seen us get four wins from four.
“You would have to think we will need to improve in the games we’ve got coming up if we want to keep the winning run going”
– Red over the water on the forums.
Well that was dreadful but at least we stayed strong at the back. Keeper needs a bollocking. Gomez was phenomenal. Four wins from four, sound.

Liverpool will improve. Despite not plaing at their best, they're 4 games in and have 4 wins, 12 points with 9 scored, 1 conceded top of table – that'll do.

“Would have been alot more comfortable had it not been for showboating by our sodding goalkeeper. But a win is a win. Another good result and improved from last year.”

If winning while not playing well is the sign of a good team imagine what winning the league while not playing well is going to look like
