Fresh from his stint training with the first team, Paul Glatzel scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season as the Liverpool U18s beat Wolves 3-0 on Saturday.

Goals: Glatzel 23′, 37′, Dixon-Bonner 33′
Glatzel was among a host of youngsters to join Jurgen Klopp‘s senior squad at Melwood during the international break, but was also retained for another session.
He and Adam Lewis seem to be of particular interest to the manager, as they worked alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino on Thursday.
But it was back to the U18s for the 17-year-old on Saturday, as they made the trip to the West Midlands to take on Wolves.
Barry Lewtas fielded a strong side at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground, making just two changes from the 1-0 victory over Man City before the international break.
Those came at full-back, with Morgan Boyes and new signing Ki-Jana Hoever taking over from Jack Walls and Yasser Larouci, with Glatzel, Bobby Duncan, Elijah Dixon-Bonner and Rhys Williams among a strong core.
It was Glatzel who got the young Reds off to a bright start as he tapped home from Boyes’ cross from the left-hand side just after the 20-minute mark.
Ten minutes later, Dixon-Bonner extended the visitors’ lead, before Glatzel doubled his tally and sealed the three points as he nodded in from Williams’ overhead kick.
Wolves had few chances to claw back for a consolation, and Viteslav Jaros held firm between the sticks whenever tested, as Liverpool briefly moved up to the top of the U18 Premier League.
But with Everton thrashing Newcastle United 7-1 later in the day, the Merseyside rivals switched places again at the summit.
Much like the first team, the young Reds have enjoyed a remarkable start to the campaign, winning seven and losing once in their first eight league games.
Glatzel is firmly in the race for top goalscorer, and it seemingly won’t be long before he is considered for at least a call-up to the U23s.
It remains a long road for the dual-heritage Liverpudlian, who was born in the city to German parents, but after a difficult spell hampered with injuries he’s making up for lost time.
