Watch Sadio Mane discuss challenging Man City & Liverpool’s Champions League ambitions

Sadio Mane has spoken to Goal about the Reds’ Champions League exploits this season and last, and explains how it feels to play in front of the fans at Anfield.

A key performer for Liverpool in last season’s run to the final, Mane’s haul of 20 goals and his all-round brilliance earned him 18th spot in Goal’s top 50 players in the world for 2018.

Mane explains that last season’s heroics in Europe meant it was the best season of his career so far, even if he had to apologise to now-team-mate Alisson for putting several goals past him while playing for Roma!

In the above video, the No. 10 explained just how it felt to play alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, and highlighted that the Reds want to go all the way in Europe once more.

“I always enjoy to play alongside these great players and they make everything easier for me.

“You can see on the pitch we are very close and we give each other passes to score.

“For us it’s motivation but not pressure. We have a great team, we’re going to try to do our best.

“Last season no-one expected us [to reach the final] but we did so it’s not pressure, just motivation.

“This season we’ll do our best to do the same, and why not win it?!”

Let’s hope he’s right, and once again plays a big part in the success of the team.
