Premier League confirm TV plans for opening weekend – here’s when every team will play

The Premier League have helpfully confirmed the fixtures set to be broadcast on TV for the opening weekend of 2019/20, with Liverpool vs. Norwich the first up.

The Reds take on Daniel Farke’s newly promoted Canaries at Anfield on Friday, August 9 at 8pm, providing the perfect start to the campaign under the lights.

Though Norwich won’t be an easy opponent, Liverpool can hope to begin their season with a bang and position themselves at the top of the table before the likes of Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham take to the field.

Fans in the UK can watch the opening game live on Sky Sports, as the Premier League revealed the four games to be shown live on August 9/10/11.

City will play less than 24 hours later as they visit West Ham on Saturday, August 10, with their 12.30pm kickoff set for BT Sport.

Closing Saturday will be Spurs vs. Aston Villa at 5.30pm, which will be broadcast on Sky Sports.

And the first Super Sunday of the season will see Newcastle host Arsenal at 2pm, before Man United vs. Chelsea at Old Trafford at 4.30pm.

Here are the full fixtures for the first weekend of the Premier League:

The only other fixtures currently confirmed for TV are in December, with Amazon Prime securing the rights to show all 10 fixtures live on December 3/4/5 and 26/27.

Liverpool host Everton in the Merseyside derby on December 4 and travel to Leicester City on Boxing Day.

The full list of fixture changes for broadcast for August and September last season were confirmed on July 6, just over a month before the start of the campaign.
