Confirmed Liverpool lineup vs. Lyon: Alisson, Firmino and Salah all start

Jurgen Klopp has named five returnees in his starting lineup as Liverpool play their last pre-season friendly of the summer against Lyon in Geneva tonight.

The Reds finish their preparations for 2019/20 this week, with their first competitive game coming on Sunday against Man City in the Community Shield.

Neither that nor this meeting at Stade de Geneve will be a marker of Liverpool’s potential success this season, but they will certainly provide a closer look at what to expect.

Klopp has been boosted by the return of five first-team players as his side gets closer to full strength ahead of the start of the campaign, and this is reflected in his squad tonight.

Alisson starts in goal, behind a back four of Ki-Jana Hoever, Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren and fit-again Yasser Larouci, with Adam Lallana shielding in the No. 6 role.

Flanking the Englishman in midfield are Naby Keita and Harry Wilson.

Mohamed Salah, Xherdan Shaqiri and Roberto Firmino make up Klopp’s attack, with the trio among those returning from injury and international duty.

And on the substitutes’ bench are the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Harvey Elliott and Divock Origi, with the manager expected to give his five first-time starters at least 30 minutes.

Liverpool: Alisson; Hoever, Gomez, Lovren, Larouci; Lallana, Keita, Wilson; Salah, Shaqiri, Firmino

Substitutes: Mignolet, Lonergan, Van Dijk, Matip, Van den Berg, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Lewis, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Elliott, Origi, Brewster, Duncan
