It’s only the second Premier League start for Lambert, and his fourth in all competitions for the club – The Reds have won all of their three previous games Lambert has started.

There’s no Mario Balotelli in the squad, seemingly having not recovered from a hamstring injury suffered while on international duty – he was watching the boxing in Liverpool on Saturday night instead.

Jordan Henderson also isn’t in the squad, Liverpool reporting due to illness.

While Glen Johnson starts at left back instead of Alberto Moreno.

Martin Kelly starts for Palace.

Kick off at Selhurst Park is 1.30pm (UK). Liverpool haven’t beat Palace at Selhurst Park since 1997.
