Liverpool will face PSV Eindhoven, Bordeaux and Galatasaray in their Champions League group for season 2006-07. The draw was made on Thursday evening and the four sides were drawn together in group C.
Rafa Benitez’s side were the top seeded club in their group and face trips to Holland, France and Turkey over the coming months after succesfully negotiating Maccabi Haifa in the qualifying rounds.
The match against Galatasaray will of course revive memories of that famous night back on May 25th 2005 the last time the Reds played in Istanbul. “We have fond memories of trips to Istanbul,” said chief executive Rick Parry.
“PSV and Bordeaux are a little bit of an unknown for us, but it’s okay. There is no such thing as a favourable draw, none of the groups is that easy.
“Turkey is a long way but we’ve avoided the eastern European trips. We are looking forward to it.”
