Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes the Reds ‘deserved more’ from todays 1-0 defeat at Chelsea.
The Reds went down to Dider Drogba’s only goal of the game, but they created a number of chances to equalize after the sending off of Michael Ballack.
Benitez said, ‘I think we deserved more from the game. In the first half we created clear chances through Kuyt and Gerrard, but one player won the game for Chelsea with a fantastic goal.
‘We started the second half creating more chances and getting into good positions. The push on Gerrard by Lampard was a clear penalty, but we cannot change these things now.’
Rafa though was still able to look at the positives through the disappointment of defeat and he said, ‘We are improving and if we keep playing like this we will score goals.
‘It’s clear that we need more points, but it’s only the beginning of the season and it’s a long race. We need to get going.’
