Opening day away again, at Villa

The 2007-08 season fixtures have been released, and Liverpool will begin away from home for the fourth consecutive season. They will also end the season away from Anfield. They will will kick off on August 11th against Aston Villa, and finish on May 11th against Tottenham.

Of course, the fixtures will be heavily changed once Sky choose their live matches (and Setanta) and also for Champions League matches.

Indeed, Liverpool’s first home match is scheduled to be West Ham on Aug 15th, but that is likely to be postponed for a Champions League qualifier. Meaning Chelsea will be the first home game of the season on Aug 18th!

The festive period sees little travelling, with Derby away on Boxing day. In a reverse of last season, the Reds travel to the other big three in the last few months of the season, as opposed to the opening months like last season.
