Three consecutive draws leaves Liverpool desperately crying out for a victory and next up it’s a trip to the Riverside where the corresponding fixture last season was 0-0.

Steven Gerrard should be fit after missing Sunday’s FA Cup draw at Luton with a calf injury. Similarly Fabio Aurelio (hamstring) could return to the side.

Fernando Torres and Jose Reina, who were rested for the trip to Kenilworth Road, return to the squad.

The Riverside Stadium has been somewhat of a bogey ground for Liverpool in the past and the Reds have failed to come home from their with three points since March 2002.

Kick-off is at 3pm.
