Injury hasn’t phased Skrtel

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel says he will still be the same player he was before his recent horrific injury, when he makes his return to first team action in December.

The Slovakian international hopes to return for Liverpool festive fixture list after suffering knee ligament damage whilst in Premier League action in October.

The defender realises he is lucky to still be playing and insists the injury will not affect his psychologically.

He says, “I will be the same player when I am fully fit again.

“I will make tackles like I always have and will stand up physically to the challenges that I face. It will take me a few games to get back to the level that I was at before the injury, that is only natural.

“But I won’t be a different player when I come back ‘“ I won’t allow that to happen.”

Skrtel could return as early as the Hull match on December 13th, or more likely the trip to Arsenal on the 21st.
