Torres suffers hamstring blow

Liverpool have suffered a massive blow with the news Fernando Torres has suffered a recurrence of the hamstring injury he has only recently returned to fitness from.

The Spanish record signing is set to miss the league matches with West Ham and Blackburn but may return for the visit of Hull to Anfield on December 13th.

A club spokesman said on Thursday evening “Fernando has a strain in his right hamstring and will be out of action for between two and three weeks.”

Torres missed seven games after initially suffering the hamstring injury while on international duty with Spain last month and only returned to League action in the 0-0 draw with Fulham on Saturday.

Defender Fabio Aurelio will also be out for a fortnight with a calf injury, he was replaced by Andrea Dossena at half time on Wednesday night.
