Match Preview: Blackburn (a)

Premier League leaders Liverpool look to extend their lead at the top of the table with an unpredictable trip to Ewood Park to face Paul Ince’s struggling Blackburn.

Rovers currently sit 19th in the league with just one home victory under their belts all season and just three victories since Ince took charge in the summer.

The Reds have Fernando Torres and Fabio Aurelio out, both sidelined with injuries. Daniel Agger is expected to return to the starting 11 at the expense of Sami Hyypia.

Blackburn have Liverpool academy graduate Stephen Warnock as their current captain and Anfield legend Robbie Fowler in the squad.

On the same day, Fulham play Manchester City (12.45pm), Arsenal host Wigan, Chelsea are at Bolton, Hull are at home to Middlesbrough, Newcastle host Stoke (all 3pm) and Manchester Utd are at home to Sunderland (5.30pm).

This fixture last season ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw – something Liverpool will be desperately looking to avoid with their last two league matches ending in stalemate at home to Fulham and West Ham.

Kick-off at Ewood Park is 3pm. Live feeds will be available via the forums.
