Reds await CL draw

The draw for the knockout stages of this season’s Champions League takes place on Friday morning at Uefa’s headquarters in Nyon.

Liverpool can be drawn with one of five clubs. The Reds won their group so will face one of the following runners-up; Sporting Lisbon, Real Madrid, Villareal, Inter Milan or Lyon.

A meeting with Inter would mean a renewal of rivalry between manager’s Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho, while a meeting with Real would give Benitez an opportunity to return to his home city and the club he has often been linked with. Real are now managed by ex-Spurs boss Juande Ramos.

The ties will take place in late February and early March, with the return leg to be played at Anfield. The draw takes place at 11am (UK time).
