Liverpool’s Ryan Babel says he is looking forward to making his claim for a regular first team place now that Robbie Keane has departed for Tottenham.
The Dutch international says he is ready to help the Reds out up front, after Keane’s departure left only Fernando Torres and David Ngog as recognised strikers at the club.
Ahead of this Sunday’s Premier League clash at home to Manchester City, Babel told press, ‘œWith Robbie having gone to Tottenham that has increased my chances a little more.
‘œI feel that I am ready for more playing time so hopefully that will come.
‘œI have spoken with the manager and he has told me what my role can be in the future. If necessary, I will play as a winger, but I have made no secret of my desire to play as a striker at Liverpool.’
Liverpool vs Manchester City on Sunday, 22nd February kicks off at 3pm.
