Terry hails ‘world-class’ Torres

England and Chelsea captain John Terry says it his ‘œfrightening’ to think of the damage Liverpool striker Fernando Torres can do at full fitness, ahead of tonight’s international friendly between Spain and England in Seville.

Terry will come up against the test of Torres for the second time in two weeks, after conceding two late goals to the Reds striker in the 2-0 victory over the Blues at Anfield.

Torres has recently returned from injury for Rafa Benitez’s men and has scored some vital goals to keep their Premier League title hopes on track.

“He’s world-class,” said Terry. “He’s only just coming back from his injury but he’s looked so sharp and is scoring goals.

“It’s frightening to think what he’ll be like when he hits full fitness, hitting the form he did last year and getting even more goals than last season.

“Spain are a top side with some fantastic players, some I really admire like Xavi, Torres, David Villa.”

Spain vs England kicks off at 9pm tonight. But really, who cares?
