Benayoun earns new deal

Liverpool winger Yossi Benayoun will be offered a new contract by Reds boss Rafa Benitez this summer after impressive form and vital goals for the Reds this season.

The 28-year-old Israeli international has been instrumental in Liverpool’s late title challenge this season, recently getting the vital injury time winner in their 1-0 victory at Fulham.

And it looks as if Benayoun’s hard work will pay off with Benitez delighted to discuss a longer future at Anfield for him.

Benitez told The Independent, “I think if he is happy, then he will be okay here.

“Yossi now is playing, so I’m sure he is happy. We’ve had no real approaches for him. Now he is playing more games, has more confidence and you can see the quality that he has.

“I have to talk to him about a new contract but he is contracted for another two years.”
