Carra prepares for biggest league game ever

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes tomorrow’s Premier League clash at home to Blackburn Rovers may be the biggest league game he has ever played in as the Reds look to keep up their assault on the title.

Victory for Liverpool in the 12.45pm kick-off at Anfield would lift them two points clear at the top of the league. Current leaders Manchester Utd are at Sunderland later in the afternoon.

And Carragher knows victory is essential to keep up hopes of bringing home the club’s first title in 19 years.

He said, “I’m not just saying this because of what happened against Chelsea the other night but the league has always been the priority for everyone at the club.

“In the 13 years I have been involved in the first team this will be the biggest league game I’ve played in ‘“ it really is that important.

“If we win we can go top of the league with just six games to go and if someone would have told us that we would be in this position when the season started we would have all been delighted.

“This is a massive chance for everyone at the club and I’m sure the fans will create a great atmosphere because they know what is at stake.”

Liverpool vs Blackburn gets underway at 12.45pm on Saturday, April 11th and is live on Sky Sports.
