LFC Legends 3-1 All Stars

Thursday night saw a host of former players return to Anfield for the Hillsborough Memorial game, in aid of the Marina Dalglish Appeal.

Legends from the eighties and nineties joined former Everton and Nottingham Forest players from 1989, along with celebrities and former players.

There was also a host of current Liverpool staff involved; Jamie Carragher assisting comedian Ricky Tomlinson on the All Stars bench, while Steven Gerrard was also in attendance, as was Rafa Benitez and Sammy Lee. Rafa went into both team’s changing rooms before kick-off to wish them the best.

Goals on the night arrived from Ian Rush, John Aldridge, Teddy Sheringham and a late Kenny Dalglish goal gifted to him respectfully by former Everton skipper Dave Watson and goalkeeper Bobby Mimms.

Former Liverpool academy goalkeeper Paul Harrison played the first 45 minutes, he lost his father in the disaster 20 years ago.

25,000 fans filled the Kop and Lower Centenary to raise funds for the Marina Dalglish Appeal.
